1) Summary

The following decision was made:

That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) approves the project design for an extension to form a multi-use area, together with refurbishment of the existing sports hall at Thornden School, Chandler's Ford, at an estimated total cost of £696,000 (including fees of £85,000).

2) Reasons for the decision

The proposed scheme will maximise wellbeing and enhance the quality of place by providing a multi-use space and refurbished sports hall.

The need for the works has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the report are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
