1. The decision:

a) That the sale of the 0.72ha (1.78 acres) of surplus land at the former Holbury Infant School site, Holbury, to the preferred purchasers on the basis of the revised terms as set out in the exempt report, be approved.

b) That the Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Strategic Manager - Assets and Development) be authorised to settle the detailed terms and conditions.

2. Reasons for the decision

2.1. The property is surplus to County Council requirements.

2.2. The proposed transaction will result in a capital receipt from disposal of this surplus asset.

2.3. The proposal will support the Corporate Priorities by enhancing our quality of place by allowing a redevelopment of the site with new homes.

3. Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. Option 1: To retain the surplus land until the residential land market recovers, and continue to incur borrowing costs.

3.2. Option 2: To offer the site to one of the under-bidders.

3.3. Option 3: To re-market the site.
