1. The decision: |
a) That the progress being made towards the eventual disposal of the building be welcomed. |
b) That approval be given to proceed with relocation of the present occupiers of the building to more suitable accommodation, on the basis outlined in the report. |
c) That, where appropriate, the occupiers be assisted financially through a contribution towards their one-off costs of relocation. |
2. Reasons for the decision |
2.1. The proposals support the previously approved strategy for working towards the eventual disposal of the St Thomas' Centre. To progress a disposal, it is first necessary for all occupiers to relocate to alternative accommodation, which will better meet their current requirements. |
2.2. The proposals meet all the County Council's corporate priorities by removing safety concerns and maximising the wellbeing of occupiers through relocation to better suited accommodation and ultimately enhancing our quality of place through the introduction of a sustainable use for the property. |
