1. The decision:

a) That approval be given to acceptance of an offer for the sale of 0.4 hectares (1 acre) of Land at Glen Road, Swanwick, as set out in the report with the Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Strategic Manager - Assets and Development) being authorised to settle the detailed terms and conditions.

2. Reasons for the decision:

2.1. The proposed disposal supports Corporate Priorities of maximising wellbeing and enhancing the quality of the environment by retrospectively funding the cost of recent improvements to the Swanwick Lodge Secure Unit, which enhances the quality of the environment for the community and provides better facilities for the secure unit.

2.2. The County Council will secure a capital receipt from the surplus property asset.

3. Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. To proceed with the sale on a subject to planning basis.

3.2. To retain the site and re-market, having achieved a further planning consent, once the housing market has recovered.

3.3. To retain the site and incorporate it as part of the Swanwick Lodge Secure Unit.
