1. The decision:
1.1 That the establishment of a pilot to develop integrated ways of working to assist with the Delivery of the Universal Offer and the Customer Strategy via HantsDirect Local, be endorsed and that an increase of £225,000 in the Policy and Resources capital programme contribution be approved.
1.2 That Basingstoke Library be rebranded as a Discovery Centre to reflect its development as a service delivery point for a wide range of County Council and partner services.
1.3 That further to the 1.2 and 1.3 above, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council be asked to confirm that the rebranding of the Library as a Discovery Centre meets the original undertaking given to build a Discovery Centre in 3 or 4 years time.
2. Reason(s) for the decision:
2.1. The proposed improvements will maximise the wellbeing and enhance the quality of place for Hampshire residents. In particular the proposals will make a significant contribution to four priorities of the Corporate Improvement Plan; through working with Adult Services to support the personalisation agenda; widening services to older people including access, well-being and adult learning; developing the offer to young people in Basingstoke and through developing service access with the Hantsdirect Local model.
