At its meeting on 10 December 2008 the Authority resolved: "That the offer submitted by Renaissance Retirement Limited for the freehold of Winchester Fire Station and 60 North Walls, Winchester be accepted on the basis that the completion of the sale shall not take place until 1 April 2011 or earlier by agreement between the parties." |

Renaissance Retirement Limited was the highest bidder, but regrettably were unable to proceed with the purchase. As a result the site was re-marketed. |
1.3 |
Eleven new offers were received by the closing date. All but one of them are subject to obtaining planning permission. Detailed analysis of these is underway, but at the time of preparing this report it is too early to for our estates advisers to recommend a preferred bidder to the Authority. |
1.4 |
In the interests of making progress with the sale as quickly as possible, it is recommended that delegated authority be given to the Chief Officer - in consultation with the Clerk and Treasurer - to accept the offer that is considered by the officers to be in the best interests of the Authority. If a preferred bidder can be determined in time for the Authority's meeting then the recommendation will be made amended accordingly. |
