1. The following decision was made:

That the transfer of the three "Recycling Contract 6" household waste recycling centres from the Waste Disposal Contract to the Household Waste Recycling Centre Contract be approved.

2. Reasons for the decision:

2.1. The transfer of these household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) is expected to result in overall savings of around £120,000 per annum. The County Council's proportion will be around 80%.

2.2. A number of performance benefits are also expected, which range from standardising and continuing to improve service levels across the county to streamlining contract management and potentially increasing recycling levels.

3. Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. To continue to operate the three "Recycling Contract 6" HWRCs separately from the other 23 HWRCs, under the Waste Disposal Contract.
