1. The following decisions were made:

a) That the actions being taken to manage expenditure be approved.

b) That the latest performance and workforce monitoring position be noted.

c) That it be a recommendation to Cabinet that the projected Highways and Transportation underspends for Road Safety Education (£254,000) and Safer Roads Partnership (£497,000) be added to the capital programme for 2009/10, to be earmarked as a contribution to the works arising from the review of A and B roads in line with Members' priorities for speed management.

2. Reason for the decision:

    2.1. Financial regulations require the revenue budgets of services to be regularly monitored and for corrective action to be taken, if necessary, to control expenditure within approved cash limits.

    2.2. The Director of Environment is required to update the Executive Member for Environment on aspects of performance and workforce monitoring linked to the achievement of the department's key aims, objectives and improvement priorities.
