1. The decisions: (AMENDED)

(a) That the Executive Member for Children's Services makes the appointment of the County Council Member to the Adoption and Fostering Panels and formally delegates to the Director of Children's Services the authority to make all other appointments to these Panels.


(b) That the appointment of Members to serve on Adoption and Fostering Panels for a period of four years, or until an agreed replacement is in place be approved, as follows:

South East Hampshire Adoption Panel - Councillor Sam James
South West Hampshire Adoption Panel - Vacancy
County Adoption Panel - Vacancy
North Hampshire Adoption Panel - Vacancy
Alton and Aldershot Fostering Panel - Councillor Charlotte Bailey
Basingstoke Fostering Panel - Vacancy
Fareham and Gosport Fostering Panel - Councillor Frederick
Allgood
Havant and Petersfield Fostering Panel - Councillor John West
New Forest Fostering Panel - Councillor Alan Dowden
Winchester Fostering Panel - Vacancy


(c) That where Member vacancies exist, these be considered by the Executive Member at his next decision meeting, following the Member briefing sessions on 17 and 25 November 2009 which will seek to attract interested members to this role.

2. Reason(s) for the decision:

2.1. Appointing Members to the Adoption and Fostering Panels supports the aims of the Corporate Strategy.

2.2. In respect of the current vacancies, briefing sessions for all Members will take place shortly to attract Members to this important role.
