1.1 That the Interim Protocol for the Councillor Call for Action (CCfA) is approved.

2. Reason(s) for the decision:

2.1. National Guidance has been published setting out best practice in relation to the Councillor Call for Action and matters that would be considered exempt under these arrangements. A Protocol is required to formalise local arrangements to support Members wishing to raise a CCfA, and the criteria that would guide any Select Committee in responding to such a referral.

3. Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. Not to formulate an agreed Protocol for dealing with CCfA. Inconsistency in the way in which referrals are dealt with may have reputation management implications with the potential for legal challenge
