1. The following decisions were made:
a) That the priorities for the provision of Environmental Services delivered through grants from the Environment Department are:
(i) supporting and promoting sustainable development;
(ii) improving the environment and quality of life;
(iii) supporting communities to develop local environmental initiatives; and
(iv) providing information and advice to raise awareness of sustainability and climate change issues to encourage behavioural change.
b) That the objectives for provision of Environmental Services grants are amended in accordance with paragraphs 3.1 (i) to (iv) of the report.
1. Reason for the decision:
1.1. The County Council employs the support of voluntary and community organisations for the effective delivery of its priorities though its grants programme. A review of the areas of activity has been undertaken to ensure that Environmental Service Providers continue to respond to Environment Department and corporate priorities.
2. Other options considered and rejected:
2.1. Not to undertake a review. This would result in the Environmental Service Provision grants programme not meeting Departmental and corporate priorities.
3. Conflicts of interest:
3.1. Conflicts of interest declared by the decision-maker: none.
3.2. Conflicts of interest declared by other Executive Members consulted: none.
4. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee: none.
5. Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent: not applicable.
6. Statement from the Decision Maker:
