1. The following decision was made:

That approval is given to commit capital funding of £1.62m to the three new-build Extra-Care schemes in Andover (£450,000), Basingstoke (£720,000) and Fleet (£450,000).

2. Reasons for the decision:

2.1. The Andover, Basingstoke and Fleet new-build Extra-Care Housing developments will deliver a total of 190 units of Extra Care housing.

2.2. These developments are integral to Hampshire County Council's strategic aim of securing, through multi-agency partnerships, a total of 400 units of Extra-Care Housing over five years (2008-2013). This was detailed in the Adult Services Development of Extra-Care Housing Report, approved by Cabinet on 24 September 2007.

3. Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. These schemes are all in districts where Extra Care housing is required and can be delivered through the attraction of external funding.
