HAMPSHIRE POLICE AUTHORITY

The Chief Constable advised the authority that officers had been issued with new uniforms consisting of black shirts and this was introduced in September 2009. New officers are no longer issued with Tunics but they would be issued on promotion to Inspectors.
OPERATION NEMISIS

Over 300 extra staff, including staff from police headquarters, had been deployed by neighbourhood teams on a variety of initiatives.
POLICE AUTHORITY INSPECTIONS
The Authority is in the first tranche of 10 Police Authorities who will be inspected by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and the Audit Commission, with the Authority's inspection commencing at the beginning of December 2009. There are four key themes for inspection: setting strategic direction and priorities; scrutinising performance outcomes; achieving results through community engagement, partnership and collaboration; and ensuring value for money and productivity. The Authority views the inspection as a positive process and an opportunity to demonstrate its public accountability.
