Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority

Access to Learning and Development Opportunities

Name:

Date:

Listed on the following page are a series of development opportunities that are relevant to the role of a Fire and Rescue Authority Member. There are differing types of resources available for similar topic areas;

C - Course :- The standard development opportunity, these varying in duration and can be delivered at times and venues suitable to Members needs and will be delivered by a number of different providers.

O - Online learning :- Accessing learning through web based training materials. These will require a username and password.

P - Management Pocket Books :- These have been designed and produced by Ashridge Business School. They are entertaining and fun to read with an array of hints, tips and quotes. The style and approach of these concise Pocket books makes them a popular and invaluable tool for any personal development journey.

W - Workbook :- These have been designed by I&DeA as a learning aid for both new and current elected members. The workbooks can be used as a stand-alone learning aid or as an adjunct to other material you may cover. The workbook serves as a direction marker rather than a road map. In practical terms, the document will take between two to three hours to work through. You do not need to complete it all in one session and may prefer to work through the material at your own pace. The key requirement is to think about your own approach and how the material relates to your local situation, the people you serve and the council you represent.

If you feel that you could benefit from access to any of these resources please indicate which you would like to take advantage of by ticking your choice in the last column and then forward the completed form to:

The Training Support Department
