Executive Decision Record

1. The following decision was made:

a) That Executive Member gives approval for a full tendering process to provide a supported employment service with people with a learning disability. The term of this contract will be two years with an option to extend for a further two years but with the flexibility to do this one year at a time (i.e. 2 + 1+ 1).

2. Reasons for the decision:

2.1. Our current arrangement for supported employment cease on the 30/9/2009. The new model of supported employment will commence on the 1/10/2009.

2.2. The new supported employment service will meet our obligations as an Adult Services Department defined within the Valuing Employment Now Strategy published in June 2009 by the Department of Health.

2.3. Existing arrangements will not deliver the outcomes required for the National Indicator (146) for adults with a learning disability to enter sustainable employment of 16 hours a weeks or more.
