1.1. It is recommended that the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services approve:

· revision to the Council's policy to allow School Uniform Grants to be paid to eligible pupils attending Hampshire County Council maintained schools but living outside the Hampshire County Council administrative boundary (the proposed wording of the new policy to be amended as discussed).

· that the authority begins a consultation on the proposal to amend the School Uniform Grant policy so that pupils living in Hampshire County Council's administrative area and attending schools outside the County Council's administrative area are not normally eligible for a school uniform grant from the County Council.

2. Reason(s) for the decision:

2.1. To bring the Hampshire County Council School Uniform Grant policy better into line with those in neighbouring authority areas and to provide better support for certain pupils attending Hampshire's maintained schools.
