1) The Decision:

1.1. That the Executive Member for Culture and Recreation:

i. Notes the progress made with the development of a Business Plan for the Culture, Communities and Rural Affairs Department

ii. Endorses the proposed key themes, aims and outcomes as the basis for the Business Plan.

2) Reasons for the decision

2.1. The development of a single Business Plan is a key element of the new ways of working for the Culture, Communities and Rural Affairs Department, which were approved by the Executive Member in July 2009 alongside a revised senior management structure for the Department.

2.2. Endorsement of the Business Plan themes, aims and outcomes by the Executive Member at this stage will allow the planning process to be completed. The final version of the Business Plan will be presented for approval by the Executive Member in March 2010.
