Consultation on school admission arrangements for 2018/19
As required by the School Admissions Code (Department for Education, December 2014), Hampshire County Council conducted a consultation on its proposed admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for 2018 to 2019. The six week consultation period has now ended.
All responses received whilst the consultation was open, will be considered by the Hampshire Admission Forum at their meeting of 12 January 2017, who will make recommendations to the Elected Member for Education, Cllr Peter Edgar, in advance of his decision day on 18 January 2017.

Higher priorities:
- for the 'Child of staff' criterion from its current position above 'other out of catchment children', to above 'children living in the catchment area of the school with a sibling attending the school'
- in the junior school policy for federated infant and junior pairings (of which there are 13) to provide a higher priority for children attending the infant school; (a list of the federated infant and junior school pairings)
Reductions to the admission numbers:
- of the Year 3 intake at Castle Hill Primary School [DfE: 2272] in Basingstoke, from 64 to 60
- at Yateley School [DfE:4166] from 261 to 240
- for Year R at South View Infant and Nursery School [DfE:2228] from 72 (including 5 resourced provision places for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan) to 60 plus 4 resourced provision places
Changes to the catchment areas of:
- the following schools in Basingstoke in response to a review of the school provision in the area to accommodate the new Chapel Hill development and the existing Dextra Court apartments:
