Fair Access Placements

The School Admissions Code (Sept 2021) requires each local authority to have an in-year fair access protocol to ensure that unplaced and vulnerable children, and those who are having difficulty in securing a school place in-year, are offered a school place as quickly as possible. This includes admitting children to schools that are already full.

All schools and academies must participate in their local authority’s protocol.
