Choosing low energy kitchen equipment to reduce consumption

When we’re looking to buy new ovens or fridges, we always aim to select energy efficient solutions. We buy appliances that can be run from 13 amps and are rated A or B on their energy saving certificate.

A great example is the combination and MKN ovens which improve efficiency by combining steaming and use of convection in cooking. It reaches temperatures quicker and reduces power consumption.

MKN is certified under the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001. This means the built in heat exchanger and triple-insulated hygiene cooking chamber door reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. For our busy kitchens, combining two appliances into one replaces the need for a single steamer and separate convection oven. This makes it much more energy efficient. The bonus is that multiuse energy efficient equipment also has a positive effect on kitchen workflow.
