Spend less on your weekly shop with a free school lunch
Times are tough for everyone right now and with growing mouths to feed, it’s often a struggle to provide your children all the food you want to give them at home. All infant and reception children can receive a free school lunchtime meal through central Government funding called Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM). Families are not means tested!
All children in reception and KS1 are eligible so take advantage and reduce your weekly food shop!
Even more help is available
Even though all infant children can receive a free meal each day, you may be entitled to even more funding! If you meet the criteria for a statutory free school meal, you should let your school know so that they can claim a Government payment called Pupil Premium. This means your school gets double funded and it can be used to benefit your child as well as their school.
Pupil Premium is available when your child moves to junior and secondary school too if you are eligible so it’s worth a check. It is a vital source of extra funding.
Our primary school menu
For over five years, our school lunch menus have been designed to help children flourish. All our classics menus follow the School Food Standards by the Government which are designed to help children follow healthy eating habits from a range of food across the week. The standard determines portion size and ensures children get the nutrition they need for the whole of the school day. As a non-profit organisation, we work tirelessly to continue to provide a two course nutritious lunch for children that maintains quality ingredients and represents good value. Find your daily menus by clicking on the tile for the week you want.
Downloadable versions of our menu calendar, menu in different formats, foreign language menus and carbohydrate information are available below.
All menu items are subject to change, based upon availability and in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Our classics menu works on a three-week cycle to make sure there is variety and choice.
Children with diabetes: carbohydrate list
We publish a list of carbohydrate values (grammes/portion) for our primary school menu. The carbohydrate values should be used as a guide only so see the Primary menu carbohydrate information April 2024 - October 2024 for more detail. We class this document as a live document and, when necessary, it is updated by our Food Development team. The date at the bottom of all the pages is there to help our parents, carers and schools identify when changes have taken place.
There is no need to register for a special diet menu for children with diabetes. Simply inform your school and they will manage this with you.
If you have any questions, we will be more than happy to help.
