Courses for adults living in Hampshire and aged 19 and over
Hampshire County Council offers Adult Tailored Learning (ATL) courses across the county and online that will support you to:
- learn a new skill
- support your child's learning
- develop the confidence and skills to progress towards further learning or employment
- gain essential skills (English including English for Speakers of other languages (ESOL), Maths and Digital Skills)
- improve your physical and mental wellbeing
- develop stronger and more sustainable communities
Free courses depend on personal circumstances and eligibility.

Eligibility
Courses are free of charge for Hampshire residents aged 19 and over who meet the Department of Education eligibility criteria.

Funding
Hampshire County Council’s Adult Tailored Learning is funded by the Department of Education (DfE).
Courses
Adult Tailored Learning (ATL) aims to develop the skills, confidence, motivation, and resilience of adults of different ages and backgrounds. Courses support the Department of Education’s key ATL purpose types and aim to:
- engage and build confidence
- prepare for further learning
- prepare for employment
- improve essential skills (English including English for Speakers of other languages (ESOL), Maths and Digital Skills)
- equip parents and carers to support their children’s learning
- improve health and wellbeing
- develop stronger communities
Hampshire Achieves' ATL courses include face to face training at local venues such as community centres, libraries, schools, children’s centres, and village halls across Hampshire. There are also online programmes.
