Hampshire Outdoor Education
We provide access to outdoor education advisors, outdoor learning specialists, teacher training and resources for all kinds of outdoor activity.
We cover all aspects of good practice and safety management. Using the online EVOLVE educational visits platform we make sure that all legal duties for educational visits are met, including providing support and assurance for adventurous activities and residential centres.
EVOLVE - Hampshire County Council
We support more than 800 schools and organisations across the South of England, including maintained, academy and independent schools, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision, children’s homes and secure and specialist centres.
What we offer
- access to experienced Outdoor Education Advisors (available via phone and email)
- guidance for educational visits in line with national guidance
- training for educational establishments and visit leaders, including visit management, risk assessment and first aid
- 24-hour support during incidents and emergencies
- a robust approval process for educational through the EVOLVE system
- resources to help you use your school grounds and local areas for outdoor learning
- guidance for adventurous activities from bushcraft to skiing

Courses
We provide a range of complementary training* for educational visits and outdoor learning such as:
- national accredited Educational Visits Coordinators (EVC) training*
- outdoor and visit leader training
- bespoke courses tailored to your individual needs
- outdoor learning and orienteering on or near your school grounds
- management of Visit Emergencies training
- first aid (various)
- bespoke curriculum outdoor sessions (beach/river studies, maths, literacy)
- EVOLVE 'how to' workshop
- camping on your school grounds
*Training courses are offered at a discounted rate for establishments with an SLA.
