Hampshire Learns
Adult Community Learning courses for adults aged 19 and over in Hampshire
Hampshire Learns offers courses that develop the skills, confidence, motivation and resilience of adults of different ages and backgrounds.
This helps them to:
- progress towards formal learning or employment
- improve their health and well-being (including mental health)
- develop stronger communities
Eligibility
Training is free for Hampshire residents aged 19+ who meet one or more of the following characteristics:
- Without a full Level 2
- In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit
- Families with school age children in receipt of free school meals
- Have a learning difficulty and/or disability
- Who are at risk of/have mental health needs
I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing support and guidance on this wonderful course. Today I was offered a job on the spot! I'm absolutely thrilled and so excited.
Funding
Hampshire County Council’s Hampshire Learns (ACL) provision is funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Living with chronic cancer related health issues, I have found being able to immerse myself in art really lifts my mood and sense of wellbeing.
Courses
The Hampshire Learns course offer includes face to face delivery at local venues such as community centres, libraries, schools, children’s centres, and village halls across Hampshire as well as online programmes.
Courses include:
- Employability programmes to support learners into work
- English and Maths
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Computing / IT
- Childcare / Parenting
- Health and Wellbeing
- Cookery and Food Preparation
- Arts and Crafts
