Hampshire County Council has a large team of School Crossing Patrols, helping children cross roads on their way to and from school. Our staff are dedicated and valued members of the community. Whatever the weather, we take pride in having some of the friendliest faces in public service.
We are always looking for people to join the team. No formal qualifications are needed, just a natural rapport with children and adults, alongside an awareness of road safety. If you’ve got the people skills to deal with children, drivers, parents and teachers, we’ll train you in the professional skills to confidently manage the traffic.

With convenient hours from 8:00 to 9:00am and 2:45pm to 3:45pm, this job fits perfectly around other commitments. We offer term-time work with a competitive hourly rate above the minimum wage. Plus, we provide a full uniform to keep you protected in all weather conditions.
