Our
roles

Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)

Our AMHP Service provides 24-hour support to individuals in the community affected by mental health concerns. We work collaboratively with social and health care professionals to assess needs and determine if hospitalisation under the Mental Health Act (1983) is necessary.

Our AMHPs are at the forefront of mental health care, working with adults in a strengths-based manner. They collaborate with other professionals to conduct assessments, manage risks and provide legal advice on the Mental Health Act. Responsibilities include coordinating assessments, offering follow-up support and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of individuals under our care.

We can support you to complete your Approved Mental Health Professional training and give you the opportunity to complete AMHP work alongside your social work duties.

When you’ve completed your AMHP training, you’ll be eligible for a market supplement of up to £2,500 per year.
