About us

Basingstoke Community Link is in the heart of Basingstoke with the Discovery Centre above and lots of shops and cafes nearby. With good transport links, we are close to local colleges, sport centres, a leisure centre and many beauty spots.

Our starting point is to talk to people to find out what their interests are and then develop a programme around what we’ve learnt. We hold regular service user meetings and are always keen to explore and make use of what our community has to offer. Some activities we organise ourselves such as ice skating, rambling, swimming and cycling. Others we join in with community groups including art at Kempshott, Drum Runners and Dance at the Proteus Creation Space (Fairfields) and Indoor Kurling at the Ridgeway Centre.

Also provided by Basingstoke Community Link is the carpentry activity ‘Plane and Easy’, which provides an opportunity to develop social skills and meet people in a safe and supported environment. We provide people with time to learn, time to experiment and to find different ways of doing things to overcome the challenges they face. We make products such as bird tables, planters, benches and dog kennels with a strong emphasis on being as environmentally friendly as possible.
