SENCO Induction training consists of online pre-learning prior to the commencement of the live online delivery of this course via Teams. The course is delivered over three half-day sessions, as well as an optional two-hour Q&A -SENCO Supervision session held four-six weeks after completion.
With this comprehensive support, we aim to equip you with all the information you need to embark on your SENCO journey.
The SENCO Induction course provides practical information about the role of the SENCO as well as understanding of policies and procedures that SENCOs need to help them identify and support children with SEND in their setting. Attendees will further increase their knowledge of the SENCO role and responsibilities by developing and understanding the range of children's special educational needs.
Emphasis is placed on the newly launched SEN Support Guidance document that is a comprehensive resource designed to assist Early Years providers in identifying, planning for, & meeting the needs of children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) at the SEN Support stage. This document focuses on the importance of high-quality teaching, inclusive practices, personalised support strategies & partnership working with parents & carers.
Open to: New named SENCOs – pre-requisite Level 3 Early Years Childcare trained, or currently working towards and EYE childminders.
