The service’s primary function is to fulfil the local authority’s statutory obligation to assess, meet and review the needs of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN), through engagement with families and support professionals.
There is a lot of information available to families on our Local Offer site. We hope that you will be able to find the information you want here.
If your child is undergoing an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment and the application was made after the 4 November 2019 you can log in to the SEN Hub to check the progress of this assessment and obtain the information you need quickly.
If you are a member of staff at a school, please refer to the School Communication, dated 4 November 2019 for information on how to contact the SEN Service.
The SEN Service help line is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 9 am to 4.30 pm Friday. Please contact us on 01329 316165 or alternatively email the appropriate team for your area of Hampshire.
We will do our best to answer your call as we understand that parents, carers and young people appreciate being able to talk to someone when they call. In the event that all our lines are busy we will ask you to leave a message and undertake to call you back within 24 hours.
If your child already has an Education, Health and Care Plan or we have agreed to carry out an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment, you will have an allocated caseworker and they will be best placed to investigate your query. Your call will be put through to your caseworker if they are immediately available and, if not, we will arrange a time when they can call you.
