Step into the world of Heritage Apples with horticultural expert Chris Bird, as he explores their history and offers a tasting of traditional varieties.

Learn about different types, cultivar choice, the importance of pollination groups and rootstocks, and the best seasonal uses and storage methods.

As Curator of the National Collection of Malus domestica Hampshire and Isle of Wight Apple Cultivars Pre‑1960 at Sparsholt College, Chris will also reveal the fascinating wealth of local apple heritage.

Coffee at 11am, followed by this engaging lecture and a two‑course lunch served in Jermyn’s House in the heart of the Gardens.
