Hampshire County Council are progressing a programme of essential planned maintenance works at Calshot Activities Centre. The site is unique and complex in nature and includes listed buildings along with various environmental designations such as being a site of special scientific interest. This therefore requires a range of consents before work can commence, such as Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent, Natural England assent and Marine Management Organisation licensing approval, meaning work will progress at different paces depending on the consents required.
The programme of work has already commenced with repairs to the main access road and the installation of a new pedestrian path carried out during May 2025.
Amongst the work to be undertaken is the decoration of the outside of most of the buildings which will commence during June 2025. This will include repair, and preventative maintenance works to protect the buildings against the elements which is particularly important bearing in mind the coastal environment. During this period, you may notice temporary scaffolding erected around some buildings.
Further essential maintenance works are planned and will run into 2026 and beyond subject to consents being received. These include items such as repair works to slipways and jetties.
Services and activities will continue as normal over this time.
