Encouraging Hampshire residents to use electric vehicles as an environmentally friendly alternative.
Hampshire County Council's climate change strategy has targets to reduce carbon emissions. In 2030 there will be a national ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles and in 2035 a ban on the sale of new hybrid vehicles.
We are keen to help residents who choose to use electric vehicles (EVs) as a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional petrol and diesel cars.
Charge point request survey
We would like you to tell us where you would like to see public on-street charging facilities installed. We are collecting this data to help identify where the demand is greatest for further roll out of our public charging infrastructure.

Electric vehicle charge points delivered by Hampshire County Council
Hampshire County Council have chosen Charge Point Operator, Believ, to deliver around 17,000 new electric vehicle charge points. The infrastructure is set to be installed in local areas where off-street charging from home is not an option.
This work is funded by the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund, supported by significant private investment from Believ, and is designed to meet the rising demand for places where drivers can recharge their electric vehicles.
In a previous pilot, the Council delivered charge points in Eastleigh and Winchester. An inventory of these charge points, now managed by Believ, can be viewed at Winchester and Eastleigh Believ Charge Points.

Charging your electric vehicle at home
The County Council is not responsible for charging your EV at your home.
There is funding available if you have access to private parking via the Government's electric vehicle charge point grant. The aim is to help private plug-in vehicle owners with some of the upfront costs of buying and installing a dedicated home recharging unit.
If you do not have a driveway or other off-street parking, you may still be able to safely charge an electric vehicle from your home if you are able to park directly outside your home. Follow the guidance on how to safely charge your vehicle on the road.
