Hampshire County Council appointed Rocon Contractors Ltd to carry out the pedestrian improvement works on Avenue Road, in the vicinity of Lymington Junior School in Lymington. Works started in early August 2025 for approximately three weeks.

Improvement works included;- installation of new zebra crossing
- landscaping improvements in the vicinity of the new crossing point
- widening of the footway on the southern side of Avenue Road

The aim of this scheme is to enhance pedestrian safety for those traveling between Lymington Church of England School and Lymington Sports Ground. Please see the improvement plan.
- Funding Arrangements
- Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
