We are currently developing a scheme to reduce the speed limit on Chilbolton Avenue to 30mph. Reducing the speed limit will require proposing changes to the Traffic Regulation Order, this is a statutory process which includes a three week public consultation. This page will be updated with the dates and a link to the order details when the public consultation is open. This will be in addition to the normal public noticing methods.
Lower vehicle speeds can help create a safer and more accessible environment for everyone using the route, including people who walk, wheel (for example, wheelchair and mobility scooter users), cycle and drive, while also helping to reduce traffic noise and improve air quality.
