- Scheme Overview
-
The proposed scheme seeks to make a number of safety improvements along Victoria Road near Emsworth Primary School for pupils accessing the school and mobility-impaired users. The works will also include improvements to the entrance of Bridge Road from the A259.
The works will be undertaken in two phases, detailed below.
Phase 1 - Improvements and location plan (Microsoft Sway).
Bridge Road:- Narrowing of the bellmouth;
- Improvements to drainage;
- Footway resurfacing.
Victoria Road:
- Footway widening;
- Relocation of a lighting column;
- Relocation of a telegraph pole, which has already been completed.
Phase 2
Works will be undertaken to enhance safety for pupils and mobility-impaired users by improving the crossing points to ensure safe access to the school for all users.
Phase 1 works are expected to start Winter 2024, followed by phase 2 in summer 2025.
- Funding Arrangements
-
Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
