Scheme overview

Hampshire County Council is developing a scheme on behalf of New Alresford Town Council to remove existing guard rails on West Street and replace with more sympathetic guard railing and associated works to retaining wall. The scheme is currently in the Detailed Design stage. Subject to approvals and funding, construction is anticipated to commence early 2027.

Funding Arrangements
Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
