Scheme overview

This scheme aims to pedestrianise the eastern service road on Broad Street that runs from the Horse and Groom public house to Fowler and Smith.  Delivery access to the businesses will be maintained and additional cycle hoops will be installed.  The scheme will also look to provide additional disabled parking on the eastern side of the high street.

Funding Arrangements
Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
