Scheme Overview

A new footway is proposed to provide a direct and accessible pedestrian link between the two developments, connecting Viney Close to Titchener Way and linking to the existing footway network. Please view the location plan.

The proposed benefits

  • Provide a continuous footway link between the Viney Close and Titchener Way
  • Improve connections to existing footways near Titchener Way
  • Enable safer and more direct access to local supermarket and surrounding facilities
  • Support access to the wider walking network in Hook

This scheme supports the aims of Hampshire County Council’s Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4) by:

  • Improving accessibility for people walking
  • Encouraging more sustainable local journeys
  • Supporting safer and more active travel choices
Funding Arrangements
Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
