Marchwood Energy Recovery Facility

Hampshire has three Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs), in Chineham, Marchwood and Portsmouth.

ERFs incinerate non-recyclable waste. The energy created makes electricity for local homes. The three facilities can process over 420,000 tonnes of waste each year. This generates enough electricity to power 50,000 homes.
