The work will take place over five nights requiring 3-way temporary traffic lights which will operate from 2000 to 0600. The change is designed to improve traffic flow in all directions and enable the construction of a permanent roundabout as part of the Botley Bypass scheme.
The temporary mini roundabout will be needed until late summer 2027 when the scheme is expected to be completed. Over this period, the layout may be adjusted to support different phases of the bypass works.
Hampshire County Council approved the Bypass earlier this year to help ease local journeys – including those to and from Southampton and the M27 – by providing much-needed additional road capacity. The scheme will also bring significant benefits to residents in and around Botley village by reducing congestion, noise, and pollution.
