Voters can now view the full list of candidates for each of the County Council’s 76 electoral divisions on the County Council’s elections webpages. On polling day, residents across Hampshire will choose who they want to represent them on the County Council and make decisions on a wide range of essential local services that affect everyday life for 1.4 million people, for services like education, roads and transport, social care for children and adults, libraries, tips and country parks. The County Councillors elected in May will help shape how these services are delivered until April 2028.
Gary Westbrook, County Returning Officer and Chief Executive of Hampshire County Council, said: “Voting is one of the simplest and most important ways to have a say in the services that affect our daily lives – from the roads we travel on to support for vulnerable people in our communities. Your vote helps decide how these services are run, and who is responsible for them. With the registration deadline fast approaching, I would encourage everyone who is eligible to make sure they are ready to take part in the County Council elections.”
To vote in the County Council elections, residents must be registered by Monday 20 April 2026. Registration is quick and easy online at gov.uk/register-to-vote, or residents without internet access can contact their local district or borough council for help.
Residents can vote in person, by post, or by proxy. Anyone voting in person will need to bring an accepted form of photo ID.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday 21 April, and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 28 April.
County Council elections are administered by district and borough councils. Polling cards, along with postal and proxy vote application forms, will be issued by the relevant district or borough council for each area.
Further information on the elections, voting methods and registration is available on the Hampshire County Council elections webpage.
