Every four years the County Council holds an election for all of its electoral divisions

County councillors use local knowledge to help the Council make decisions on the essential services provided to its residents and communities.

Make sure you can vote

On Thursday 4 May 2017, Hampshire voters will choose their representative on Hampshire County Council.

To vote in the County Council election, you must be registered with your local district or borough council, by Thursday 13 April.

District and borough councils across Hampshire will administer the County Council elections on behalf of the Authority. If you want to register, visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or contact your district council.

The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Tuesday 18 April.

The deadline for proxy vote applications is 5pm on Tuesday 25 April.

A vacancy exists for a County Councillor in the two-Member division of Bedhampton and Leigh Park. As this vacancy has occurred within six months of the County Council’s Election on 4 May 2017 there will be no By-Election. The County Council Election on 4 May 2017 for this area will be for the new Divisions of North East Havant and North West Havant.
