Helping us improve how we feedback to you

Telling us what you think of our annual Hampshire Perspectives ‘You Said We Did’ report and relevant webpages.
Hampshire Perspectives is the County Council's residents' forum
It was created to understand awareness, readership, barriers to reading the report, and views on how we feed back to the forum through our annual You Said We Did report (sent out 2 weeks prior to the survey) and the related webpages: Hampshire Perspectives and Consultations and other ways to have your say. The aim was to identify opportunities to improve how we feedback to you.
The survey was open from 5 to 19 February and received 351 responses from Hampshire Perspectives members.
Key findings and the actions we are reviewing in response:
You Said, We Did report:
- Awareness of the report was relatively strong, with 72% of you remember you received it. However, only around half of you had read it. We are reviewing how we communicate with you to make our updates clearer, more recognisable and easier to read. We are also exploring shorter, more frequent You Said, We Did updates, potentially twice a year, to improve visibility and keep you informed more regularly.
- Just over half of you who read the report, skimmed it in 10 minutes or less, and for those who didn’t read the report limited time was a common barrier. We are looking to make the future reports easier to read and quicker to scan, helping you access the key information more easily.
- Some people felt the report was too long or detailed, while others appreciated the level of detail in the report. We are looking to introduce a one-page summary highlighting the main findings and actions, while continuing to provide more detailed information for those who would like to explore further.
- While many of you valued seeing what actions had been taken following feedback, some felt it was not always clear how their feedback had made a difference. We are looking to improve how we explain actions taken as a result of feedback, using clearer language and showing how feedback influences both current decisions and future planning.
- Some respondents said they found the report difficult to read on a mobile phone. We are exploring more mobile-friendly ways of presenting the report.
Consultation and other ways to have your say webpages
- 60% of you had visited the webpages but only under a third of you were aware of the summaries of projects on the webpages. We are looking at how and when we promote these resources, including signposting to relevant webpages after participation in surveys and consultations.
Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback. We hope these changes help make the report more accessible, relevant and useful for everyone.
