Colin Lord

I am a Principal Landscape Architect and have worked for Hampshire County Council Landscape Design group in Property Services for twenty years. Starting as a newly qualified graduate I have developed my career here in Winchester working mainly on school projects.

As well as school projects we also work on children and adult care homes, fire and rescue and countryside projects, amongst others. The workload also occasionally includes work for organisations and council authorities outside of Hampshire, such as Reading District Council and Southampton City Council. We have a partnering arrangement with MACE who assist with our resourcing.

Working with school staff to develop a scheme is my favourite aspect of the job and I have especially enjoyed working with a number of schools for children with special needs. Seeing the joy on pupil’s faces as they play on their new playground or on their new sports pitch is especially rewarding.
