Two award winning projects by Hampshire County Council Property Services have been selected to feature in the Journal of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ).
The news follows a visit by Professor Miura and colleagues from the University of Kyoto, Japan, to Property Services in October 2016 as part of their research into how buildings can be converted for different use.
Arrangements were made by Property Services following Professor Miura’s original request to visit Winchester Discovery Centre and The Westgate School – both of which have been recognised with national industry accolades.
In addition to this, the Westgate School was selected alongside projects from Japan, Australia, Finland and Sweden, for a book by Professor Miura and his colleagues, about the importance of converting a historic building into different use from social and historical context.
The AIJ was first published in 1887 and it is well established in Japan for academic studies into architecture, planning and construction engineering, and is read widely by industry professionals around the world.
