Nick Allingham
Electrical Surveyor
I joined Hampshire County Council in July 2008 as an Engineering Surveyor, after working as part of the term maintenance team who work in partnership with the County Council. In my current role as a Reactive and Cyclical Maintenance Engineer, I am part of a team which provides mechanical and electrical support to a variety of properties across the county. I deal with electrical issues at farms, schools, libraries, and nursing homes to mention a few. The work is very varied, and every day finds a new challenge, for example breakdowns and service items such as lifts, fire alarm systems, auto doors and all other electrical equipment. I very much enjoy the variety of challenges each day brings.
Our Property Services team has a wide range of knowledgeable people, who are willing to help and support you, so you feel part of the bigger team. The County Council also provide good training opportunities, so I have been able to enhance my skills with Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and lift training, as well as continually update my existing qualifications.
