Navjot Singh

After graduating from The University of Nottingham, I joined Hampshire County Council in September 2025 as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant. My time at University gave me a strong foundation in Architecture and Design. Securing a role with the Council straight after graduating was an exciting step for me, and I was keen to get some more practical experience on public sector projects.

As a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, I am currently working on two primary school projects. I’ve been able to develop my CAD/BIM software skills, and have also been able visit various construction sites. I’m grateful to be working closely with the project architects and broadening my knowledge in practice.

What I like about HCC is the opportunity to be involved in projects that have a meaningful impact on local communities. I've been able to work on different projects that are at different RIBA work stages, which is critical for my experience as a Part 1. HCC promotes a supportive environment alongside a healthy work life balance.
