Report a concern about an individual or make a complaint about Prevent

If there is an immediate threat

If you have seen a person acting suspiciously, or if you see a vehicle, or unattended package or bag which might be an immediate threat; move away and call 999 without delay.

If there is no immediate threat

If you are a member of the public and would like to share your concerns, call:

If you are a professional (for example, a care provider, educator, social worker) and would like to share your concerns, or refer someone for support relating to these concerns, use the National Prevent Referral form:

By raising your concerns, you can help someone who you believe is at risk of radicalisation get support; and safeguard them from being drawn into extremism and terrorism before any criminal activity takes place.

If you have found material online which is illegal or of an extremist nature, you can report it anonymously: Report online material promoting terrorism or extremism (GOV.UK).

Make a complaint about Prevent

Standards and Compliance Unit (StaCU) has been set up to make sure anyone applying the Prevent duty, or providing training on Prevent, follows the right process and standards.

StaCU has been created in response to recommendation 34 of the Independent Review of Prevent to process and investigate complaints from both Prevent practitioners and the general public
