5 OUTDOOR SERVICE - OPTIONS FOR FUNDING SAVINGS 2007-8

To consider a report of the Director of Recreation and Heritage on financial and other issues relating to the outdoor activities centres located in Portsmouth and Southampton and their use by Hampshire's schools.

Members are asked to identify any further information required and make suggestions for taking this work forward.

6 CULTURAL STRATEGY AND TOURISM STRATEGY

To consider presentations by the Director of Recreation and Heritage on the consultation process in relation to these two strategies. Members are asked to consider the method of consultation and to identify any areas requiring further consideration.

7 REVIEW OF ANNUAL REVENUE FUNDING TO COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS

To consider a report of the Director of Recreation and Heritage on proposed changes to the arrangements for funding of community associations. Members are asked to identify any further information required.

8 BASINGSTOKE CANAL FINANCIAL STATEMENT

To consider a report of the Director of Recreation and Heritage on financial issues relating to the Basingstoke Canal, as requested by the Committee at their last meeting.

9 SUPPORT FOR INDEPENDENT ARTS ORGANISATIONS 2007-10

To consider the report of the Director of Recreation and Heritage. There will be an oral update on progress by the Members Panel.

10 UPDATE ON REVIEW OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES

The Chairman to report on progress made by the Panel.

Prioritisation of items to form annual work plan

11 TACKLING AREAS OF DEPRIVATION AND DECLINE

    (a) To consider a presentation by the Director of Environment on the availability and use of demographic software and analysis tools.

    (b) To consider a presentation by the Director of Recreation and Heritage on equal access to library services.

12 MANAGEMENT OF CONSULTATIONS AT HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

To consider a report of the Chief Executive on the County Council's arrangements for initiating and evaluating public consultations.

13 FINANCE AND PERFORMANCE : INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO SUSTAINABLE ARTS FUNDING

To consider a briefing note on possible ways forward.

Members are requested to select topics from among the above for further scoping within the scrutiny work programme.
