7 MINUTES OF THE FINANCE AND GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE - 18 JANUARY, 2007

To receive the Minutes of the Finance and General Purposes Committee held on 18 January, 2007 which includes recommendations to the Authority in relation to the budget for 2007/08, the Capital Programme and associated Prudential Indicators and the Treasury Management Strategy (relevant information forms part of Item 8) There is also a recommendation on budget monitoring and the relevant report is attached as part of Item 7.

8 HFRA BUDGET 2007/08

To consider the report of the Treasurer and the Chief Officer on the budget for 2007/08. There will be a short presentation on this item.

9 REFRESHED INTEGRATED RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN (IRMP) 2007/10

To consider the report of the Chief Officer seeking approval to the refreshed Integrated Risk Management Plan 2007/10. A copy of the IRMP itself will be issued to you shortly by the Chief Officer. Please bring your copy to the meeting.

10 HAMPSHIRE AND ISLE OF WIGHT FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES OPTIONS REVIEW - RESULTS OF CONSULTATION EXERCISE

To consider the report of the Chief Officer summarising the findings of the consultation exercise commissioned by the Service following the Authority's consideration of the Options Review.

11 ACTIVITY REPORT

To receive the activity report provided by the Chief Officer.

12 OUTCOMES OF THE HAMPSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE/HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL PARTNERSHIP - YEAR 1

To receive the report of the Chief Officer on the results of the first year of the above formal partnership.

13 SOUTH EAST FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES REGIONAL MANAGEMENT BOARD - UPDATE

To receive the report of the Chief Officer about the key issues arising from the South East Fire and Rescue Service's Regional Management Board meeting held on 17 January, 2007.

14 FIRE AUTHORITY CONFERENCES

(i) Fire and Rescue Service Conference and Exhibition : 22-24 May, 2007 at NEC, Birmingham

To appoint Members to attend the above Conference and Exhibition.


(ii) The Local Government Annual Conference: 3-6 July, 2007 at ICC, Birmingham

To appoint Members to attend the above Annual Conference.

15 MINUTES OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE - 2 FEBRUARY, 2007

To receive the Minutes of the Human Resources Committee held on 2 February, 2007 which include a confidential recommendation about a local review of Principal Officer Pay rates.

16 EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

RECOMMENDATION:

That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the following item of business, as it is likely, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the public were present during that item there would be disclosure to them of exempt information within Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, and further that in the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information, for the reasons set out in the report.
