2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

All Members who believe they have a personal or prejudicial interest in any matter to be considered at the meeting must declare that interest and, having regard to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct, consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter is discussed, save for exercising any right to speak in accordance with paragraph 12 of the Code. The declaration should be made at the time of the relevant debate.

4. CHAIRMAN'S COMMUNICATIONS

5. ANNUAL AUDIT AND INSPECTION LETTER 2007

To consider the Audit Commission's Annual Audit and Inspection Letter for 2007.

6. ANNUAL AUDIT AND INSPECTION LETTER RESPONSE

    To consider a report of the Chief Executive setting out the County Council's response to and Annual Audit and Inspection Letter as per (5) above and identified areas for action.

7. DIRECT PAYMENTS REVIEW REPORT

    To consider a report of the Director of Adult Services providing the results of the consultation on the review of the direct payments scheme and makes recommendations for future changes.

8. 2007/08 BUDGET MONITORING UPDATE

    To consider a report of the County Treasurer reviewing the position at the end of the third quarter on high risk/demand led budgets, overall employee budgets, savings plans and financial health indicators to provide an overall corporate context to budget monitoring.

9. NATIONAL YEAR OF READING

    To consider a report of the Director of Recreation and Heritage on the National Year of Reading initiative, the aim of which is to create a national focus of opportunities and activities that can be locally delivered.
